Amazing Little Girl!

Last time I posted, I told you that Liliana is starting to get more refined movement in her arms and legs. Over the past week, she has surprised us once again. She is starting to get some strength in her neck and is able to move her head around a little bit. What we do is put her on her back with a roll under her shoulders and her face toward the ceiling. Then we wiggle our fingers or use a toy going from side to side slowly so that she can follow. When you get so far to the side where her eyes are no longer able to follow, she moves her head. She can't move it very far yet, but we have very high hopes for her and we know she will continue to try harder and harder every day.

No doctors visits this week, so no new measurements to report.

CPAP continues to go great. Over the past week we have changed her schedule from 8a-12p & 7p-11p down to 8a-12p & 4p-8p. She is still doing 4 hours twice a day, but we have closed some of her rest time in the middle. This should help her strengthen more to help her eventually be able to tolerate CPAP all day and rest at night.

We did not get Lili out to the living room this week because we had a busy week and so did Lili. Some days she was so exhausted she fell asleep around 6p and slept throughout the night.

LeeAnn and I had our 3 year wedding anniversary this week. One of our nurses offered to come from 1p-9p so that we could go out and celebrate. I took LeeAnn on a mini shopping spree. She got some clothes and 2 pieces of framed wall art. I also bought some clothes and we got Liliana a real cute purple swimsuit. We also went out to dinner at Rio Bravo, it is one of our favorite places to go for mexican. We had a great day. When we got home Lili was sleeping. We missed her a lot in our short time away from her. We gave her lots of kisses as usual.

Sorry, no new pictures this time, but keep a close lookout, you never know when I will have some new swimsuit pictures on here.

Couch Potato

This was Lili's second trip to the living room. It completely tuckered her out because she decided to skip some of her naps that day. Since she was trying to take in everything in this new environment, she still did not sleep. LeeAnn had to coax her to sleep, and when she did finally give in, she was out. It's nice to get her out there, and the more we do it the easier it gets.

We had another doctor visit today. Liliana is up to 14 pounds. Everything is going great. She has picked up some more movements in her arms and legs. Instead of just kicking her legs, she is now starting to pull them in toward her body. Her arms are getting a little stronger. We can put a toy at her side, just out of reach and she will move her arm outward and touch it. She never ceases to amaze us. I can't wait to see what she has in store next!!!

Lilly Land

Just me trying to be creative. Our indoor lili's are blooming and gave me a great idea for the following photos.

Sunbathing???

It was just me and Lili for a few hours yesterday since mommy had to work and our nurse left at 3:00. I gave her her bath and decided to try and get her out of her room for a change since mommy has really wanted to get her out of there. When LeeAnn came home from work, she cried because she was so happy to see Liliana out of her room. We had her out in the living room for about 5 hours. She loved seeing the new environment. I put one of her videos on the big screen tv and she watched with great intent. The bathing suit idea was to get some funny pictures, which I think turned out to be a great success. Everytime I look at those pictures I laugh out loud and get a tear in my eye. Anyway, now that I know it is not that difficult to get all of her equipment out there we will have to do it more often. Here are a couple more pics.

Lilli, Lilly bo Billy

Nothing but good news here. Liliana is getting so big that it seems a little unreal. She started cutting some teeth recently and has her good moments and bad. You can definitely tell when her teeth are bothering her. We just give her some tylenol, oragel or her ice chew toy and you can see the relief that she feels. She continues to develop. Her legs do not stop kicking when she is awake and happy. We prop her legs up with rolls and put this one toy under her foot. She is able to kick and make the toy sound. We also put a rattle toy around her ankle and she makes a lot of noise with that too. We get a kick out of it. I did something yesterday, I don't remember what, she looked like she was laughing. It was definitely more than a smile. I am so happy and proud of her. She makes me happy every day. When I watch her and her personality it makes me laugh.
